AUDIOSLAVE Singer Hints At Acoustic Direction For Next Solo Album
September 7, 2006Launch Radio Networks reports: AUDIOSLAVE singer Chris Cornell has done a few solo acoustic performances online this week to promote the release of the band's new album, "Revelations". Cornell is also working on his second solo album, but told Launch he's not sure yet if it will be an acoustic affair or similar to his first solo effort, 1999's "Euphoria Morning". "I think there's gonna be a lot of similarities, but I think there's some more straightforward songs than might have appeared on 'Euphoria Morning', and maybe more stripped down, I think," he said. "There's one song on 'Euphoria Morning' that's basically just one acoustic guitar and some singing, and I may — not overall, but at least to some degree — go a little further in that direction."
Cornell performed the first single from "Revelations", "Original Fire", as well as SOUNDGARDEN's "Black Hole Sun", at Yahoo! Music.
He also performed acoustic versions of "Original Fire", another "Revelations" track called "Until We Fall", AUDIOSLAVE's "Like A Stone" and BOB MARLEY's "Redemption Song" at StrippedMusic.com.
"Revelations", AUDIOSLAVE's third studio album in four years, arrived on Tuesday (September 5).
Cornell also recently recorded the title song for the upcoming James Bond movie "Casino Royale", called "You Know My Name".
